Yesterday was the first day of fall, and the 100th-to-last day of 2023. We spent the first weekend of fall celebrating a friend’s 40th and laying low at my parent’s house. It was a beautiful start to fall, with foggy mornings and sunny 70’s afternoons.
I love the start of a new season, and I regularly make lists of activities (most of which I don’t get to), but here I am again, dreaming big for the season. I have many lists floating around from years past, and this is my attempt to cull it down to one reasonable, and mostly kid-appropriate, list of fall adventures:
Go apple picking. Waiting on Ratzlaff Ranch to open for the season!
Walk or bike the kids to/ from school once a week
Go to a drive-in movie 🍿
Cook Ina’s meatloaf
Make pumpkin everything - namely copy cat MHBB pumpkin bars
Host (or get myself invited to) a Mom's wine night by the fire pit
Host a kids movie/show night with a friend or two
Prep for Boston and New York in late October (priority#1 is to stay healthy!)
Explore my core values via The New Happy
Read The Learning Game and Daring Greatly
Plan a high school friends meet-up
Hike Muir Woods with the kids
Attend a MVFF movie (there are always so many to choose from!)
Write and post on Substack weekly
Use these 99 days to set intentions for what comes next
