Despite (or because of) the fact that the first few weeks of school have been extremely stressful, the theme at home has been to keep the summer vibes going. The weather is doing its part. It was also my birthday recently, so it helped having mini-celebrations to keep spirits up.
For me that included a giant croissant with mom friends, a facial, a day date, and a hamburger cake. For the fam it meant plenty of pool time, popsicles, berry-picking and basically a lack of scheduled activities, other than fighting to get to school on time.
Here are my favorite things from my birthday week:
We picked blackberries on our local bike path and in our own backyard. I’d like to get enough to make this!

Obsessed with these beautiful block-printed cards after receiving one from my high school bestie. She and I have fond memories of block printing in art class together with one of our very favorite teachers.
