Summer week 1 is in the books. It was a glimpse of all that I want summer to be, before illness dragged us all down and into a rotation of runny noses and bad attitudes. The small glimpses we did have were really great. Early morning pre-camp scooter rides and a park playdate with a friend. Two beach trips. A solo day with my big guy. Seeing his imaginative play emerge with peers of all ages. Starting a few new books. Getting a PaperPie book delivery! An unexpected front-row seat to a full moonrise. Free Bluey screening at the local theatre! Harvesting pantloads of plums from our tree. (Can anyone name the children’s book that expression comes from?!)
I’ve already got a list of notes going so that I can reflect on the summer as a whole (I’m looking at you 10am camp start time.)
Here’s to a healthier week ahead, getting into a routine (I’m looking at you summer school), and many more quintessential summer moments!
Here is my weekly list of digital notes:
If I had more energy I might start my own Silly Little Club
A super refreshing POV on so many levels. I love that Liz eschews the traditional summer bucket list of activities to reinforce her point in this thoughtful piece.
Love the idea of a Boring Girl Summer
The opposite of boring is a summer full of baking cakes. This cake art gallery is all the inspo I need to get my bake on:
Can't forget to jump on free swim sessions in our local high school pool!
Quite a span of topics in this non-fiction TBR list
This fiction title is coming to the big screen, so I better get to it!
(Kids) food for thought:
Reading all the books I come across to help me be the parent I want to be for my differently wired child. (Looks like I need to read every reviewer’s book too!)
Sounds like a must-listen for this snack-slinging mom:
Likely a must read for all of us who suffer from stolen focus (i.e. all of us)
I loved this concise picture book Pirate Code. Filing it away for my dream job - children’s book author:
Just found out about this cute collab! Order placed. (The girls dresses are adorbs!)
